Updated October 29, 2026. tripsitter is made by idiom llc.

Your mail

If you plan trips with tripsitter, it reads travel email in your Gmail (read-only) to find bookings: flights, ships, hotels, cars. It keeps what it finds (dates, confirmation numbers, names on the booking), not your inbox. Emails it can't parse are read by Anthropic's Claude API to pull out the same details. Weather comes from Open-Meteo, by city.

Connecting Gmail on tripsitter.app: Google's permission is kept encrypted on our server and used only to read travel confirmations for your own trips. Your trips are stored privately for you; nobody else can see them unless you share. Disconnect any time in the app: we revoke Google's permission and delete your trips. tripsitter's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We never use Gmail data for ads, never sell it, and never let people read it, except with your permission or where the law requires.

Your phone

If you allow Photos, tripsitter looks at recent screenshots on the phone for boarding passes and cruise passes. Only the code it finds is kept. The camera is used only when you point it at something at an airline or hotel desk.

What's public

Nothing, until you share. A trip link shows the trip's painting, name, dates and the plan as times and what's happening; names only if you turn on "Show who's going". A profile shows the finished trips you choose, with their name, city and dates. Confirmation numbers, passes, seats, addresses and anything that needs you are never published.

Accounts

Sign in with Apple gives us Apple's anonymous id for you and the name you choose to share. Continue with Google gives us Google's id for you and your name. We keep who asked to join which trip, who's on it, and friends (people you've shared a trip with). Delete your account in the app's Share sheet: it removes your name, trips you've joined, requests, friends, your profile and your Gmail connection.

Payments

tripsitter Pro is billed by Apple. We see that you have a subscription and when it renews, never your card.

We don't sell data, show ads or track you across other apps.
